In the 1990s, we used to send letters for most of our communication – but not now!

We don’t use sending letters doesn’t mean we stopped communicating with people who stay away. Rather, we have adopted new methodologies to make our communication faster and more effective.

This adoption theory is true for everything and marketing is definitely not left out. To maintain success in multiple areas, it is important to have an adaptive strategy and approach. What used to work well may not work as well or at all with newer avenues like email marketing, social media promotion, and search engine optimization.

The main misconception about search engine optimization is that it’s dying. In reality, SEO has evolved more than it used to be. You might think SEO is dead, but it’s evolving and actually thriving. You should invest in SEO for your business because the benefits of optimizing your website for performance can be immense when the proper techniques are applied.

There are many marketers out there who believe SEO is dead because it was too hard, maybe changed too much, or they just couldn’t move up the Google ranks. They thought that SEO was dead for many reasons, such as there are no standards, it’s lazy marketing, and it doesn’t work. But the reality is far different.

SEO is not dead, it’s flourishing. We have data and experience to prove it and it’s very demanding as well – for those who understand it actually.

Content is the King

To make a better user experience, and to encourage more engagement with the content, Google always prioritizes the quality and relevancy of the content. Nowadays, as opposed to choosing black-hat tactics, it is more effective to focus on white-hat tactics such as providing the best user experience and answering your users’ questions. Spinning content or copying other content won’t help you to get better SEO results and you will end up thinking SEO is dead.

AI-based algorithms in Search Engines

The old way of SEO was broken. People should no longer be scared of change because we are now able to do better things with our websites. We want to put the user first, rather than just trying to manipulate Googlebot with black-hat spam techniques. These spam techniques included keyword stuffing and buying links. These older, outdated tactics won’t help. Google has adapted, tightening its standards and guidelines. And implementing those old spammy tactics could lead to broader google penalties for your site.

SEO requires more effort

It’s been difficult to maintain website traffic in recent years. This is because the internet has become a lot more competitive and updating your site has become increasingly difficult. However, if you take the time to update these features, you will be able to stay afloat and create quality content that is accurate and relevant to your audience.

SEO requires much more work in the year 2022 than it did in 2000. If you’re not prepared to put in hours of time and really provide a great experience for your users, then you might as well scrap SEO altogether.

Complicated Process

It’s more difficult to do SEO today, even for content marketers. For example, to rank well in SERPs for content marketing, you need a sensible page layout with logical headers, and body content such as paragraphs, hyperlinks, and images. This may be difficult if you do not have a background in writing or a team of writers.

In the past, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was often focused on XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and HTML. Today, SEO is more about teamwork, site architecture, and client-side rendering. People with either technical or content expertise can learn more about the modern web and SEO to master it with education and experience before coming to a conclusion that SEO is dead.

Increasing SEO Jobs and Salary packages in the corporate houses

If SEO is dead, why are more companies hiring Search Engine Optimizers and paying them higher salaries? Well, because SEO ain’t actually dead.

According to a report, SEO jobs increased by nearly 100%. This can be seen as an interest in search engine optimization, but also is proof that businesses are keeping content in-house by hiring more in-house SEO staff.

The average salary for SEO specialists, analysts, and managers all increased by 8% percentage points from 2019 to 2020.

Despite COVID-19, which caused many industries and professionals to suffer, SEO careers have been unaffected. Despite naysayers claiming it is dead, SEO careers are still thriving.

Conclusion why SEO is not dead

A business can generate billions of monthly connections with local results in search.

With machine learning and AI algorithms at the helm, recently data was found that people made billions of website visits, phone calls, food orders, and bookings through searching google.

Google sends billions of visits to websites, and the traffic Google sends to open web has been increasing every year since the first search engine was created.

Change, while scary, will reap rewards for those who adapt and pivot. It’s important to remember that despite all the changes made to Google every year, SEO is always about one thing: giving users what they want when they need it. Your success in SEO will depend on your willingness to change with the industry. There are still things that can be done to get higher traffic, but overall, there has been an increase in differentiating content.

SEO is still alive & popular, however, it might as well be dead for you only, if you don’t change with it and adapt to various changes. If you feel difficulty in getting SEO results, you can hire professional SEO companies to get the desired results.
