With a mission to share learning from top executives of industry/corporate/startup, here Entrepreneur Bus team brings you learning of Abhishek Anand (Founder & Chief Executive officer at My Servicekart PVT. LTD.), penned by himself.
She once told me, don’t share your ideas to people, they might steal it and take all the credit, which you deserve. I smiled, and explained, Stealing an “idea” is much like stealing a drop of river water. An idea can be just a part of thought process, if we compare minutely, thought process is much analogous to flowing river water & an Idea is a drop of it.

Like if you take a drop out of flowing river, that drop will lose its existence, similarly without thought process idea will be either faded away or completely change its meaning with a new thought process.

If you were the inventors of Facebook, you would have invented Facebook.” Said by Mark Zuckerberg’s character in the movie The Social Network.
Above quote from The Social Network, a movie with a semi-sensational edge on the founding of Facebook, is much supporting another famous saying by an American author, entrepreneur, & Speaker Timothy Ferriss :
One can steal ideas, but no one can steal execution or Passion – Timothy Ferriss
In some cases, if someone steals your precious idea, they can’t steal the whole thought process comprising factors like your skill, way of execution, your sheer passion, that are not much apparent in the context of that very small snapshot.

Focus on your core value and uniqueness, which can never be stolen in any competitive circumstances :
Create a Long Term Vision, no one can steal your long term vision :
Start with a basic formula, “Think Big -Start Small,” like every successful startup did. If your are working on an idea or planning to do, you might have the similar concept in your mind – going through a minimum viable market to validate your concept. The question here is “What is your long term vision?” Long term vision, way of execution and the path that gets you there can never be stolen. If someone tries to steal your idea, they usually follow current market you’re going after.

No one can steal your way of thinking & expertise :
You might have heard about Chuck Hull , inventor of the solid imaging process known as stereo-lithography (3D Printing). Hull, first came up with the idea in 1983 when he was using UV light to harden tabletop coatings. But on July 16, 1984 Alain Le Méhauté, Olivier de Witte and Jean Claude André filed their patent for the stereolithography process. It was three weeks before Chuck Hull filed his own patent for stereolithography. The application of French inventors were abandoned by the French General Electric Company (now Alcatel-Alsthom) and CILAS (The Laser Consortium). The claimed reason was “for lack of business perspective”. Hull finally coined the term “stereolithography” in his U.S. Patent.

No one can steal your sheer passion to overcome failures :
When you came up with an idea, it needs to have balls to convert that idea into a real product. First version of your idea will never return a perfect market viable final product. A lot of iterative & failure approaches are required to make it happen. You need to be self-driven, to give yourself push to overcome failures, may be your idea need to be retouched and you will do that as per the market demand.
